Literature - Collecting Info
Below is information on where you can possibly find all the books, audio, and visual
material that I've presented here. There are no guarantees that there may be stock available, but
who knows? There just might be. You're probably wondering why I don't just affiliate my site to
some online bookstore like Amazon? Well, I decided a long time ago when I first started this site that
I would not make profit from it since it's just a way for me to express my obsession and it's fun to
fiddle with such a hobby. So, that's why there is no direct linkages to any of the bookstores listed
below. You'll just have to search the site. I'm only directing to you where you can possibly find it.
Your Local Bookstore
Go to your local bookstore. Some may not contain all or any Anne Rice
material, but who knows? You may find some really old edition of Interview With The Vampire?
Used bookstores are also a great place to find stuff. That's where I found some of my Interview With
The Vampire editions and several graphic novels.
Online Bookstores
And if you can't find it at your local bookstore,
there are online bookstores. Here you can probably find several different editions of novels, as well as
practically every resource that I've mentioned. And the prices are slashed down from the retail price. Some as
low as 40% off! Note: There is shipping and handling costs. And if you're looking at DVD or VHS and you live
somewhere other than US and Canada, you may not be able to watch them. Here's a few online bookstores to get you
started.
- Amazon.com. If you haven't heard of this place already, it just
happens to be the largest and most frequented online bookstores around. It also contains audio and visual material
as well. Large selection.
- Barnes And Noble.com. This is also one of the largest
online bookstores today. It contains a wide range of books. If Amazon doesn't have a book in stock, Barnes
and Noble does. I don't know why, but it does.
Online Auctions
You may or may not have heard of it, but there are places on the net
where people sell stuff that they don't need via auctioning. It works the same as a regular auction. You place a bet
and try to outbid any other people vying for the same thing. Just a word of caution. Just beware and auction at your
own risk since you don't know what exactly you are paying for. I've never tried this, but a lot of people have told me
that they bought some really good Anne Rice things. But here is the place where you are most likely to find graphic novels
and out of print editions of the novels. Here are a few places to get you started.
- ebay. A very popular site and one that is highly recommended. They have an excellent
reputation and very good system of ensuring that you get what you paid for.
- The Advanced Book Exchange. An online store that sells used books. Some will lead
you to bookstores and some are sold via auctions. Very large selection of used books.
Public Libraries
Although you can't keep them, you can always
look into your local public library or university library. That's where I found quite a few of the books, audio tapes,
and video. Don't be surprised. It's probably there.
Video Rental Store
For those who want to see the movie, Interview With The Vampire,
but don't want to fork out the money to buy it, there is your local video rental store like Blockbusters.
Television
Although some of the scenes are edited, you can catch the movie version
on TV. Usually around Halloween. Look for it on your local tv listings.
Local Record Store
If you are looking for the movie soundtrack and don't want to go
through some online record store, then you can goto your local record
store like HMV, Tower Records, or Virgin. It is still available.
