Literature - Trivia

Main Facts

MORTAL BIRTHDAY: 1766 in France

YEAR BORN INTO DARKNESS: 1791

Birthday Speculations

ACTUAL BIRTHDATE AND ASTROLOGICAL SIGN: According to the Anne Rice 1998 calendar:

"I didn't see my father until I was four years old, and I remember it distinctly. . . . But of fatherlessness for four years: perhaps this is why Louis in Interview with the Vampire has no father. I gave Louis the birthday of October 4, same as mine. Insofar as I accept astrology (uneasily) I made him a Libra, mild of manner, weighing both sides of an issue too heavily. Though I, myself, grew very far away from the gentle description of the typical October child. Even writing the novel was an act of aggression, of defiance a way of saying that the death of my daughter couldn't annihilate me. Drunk most of the time, quarrelsome, unreliable, and generally unpredictable, I could still write - about a vampire born under the sign of Libra, who lost everything with the death of a younger brother, and never found it again."

Anne Rice has also said that Louis' birthday is March 4, which makes him a Pisces. Neither dates say if it his mortal or immortal birthdates. I have assumed that October 4 is his mortal birthdate and March to be his immortal birthdate until proven otherwise.

HIS MAKER: Lestat de Lioncourt

HIS TOMBSTONE LOCATION: In St. Louis Cemetery, New Orleans. Right next to Paul. The dates read 1766 - 1794

Tomb Location Speculations

St. Louis Cemetery #1 since #2 was not built until after Louis' death.

WHERE DOES HE LIVE NOW? No idea. Louis, David, Lestat and Merrick are forced to abandon Rue Royale and New Orleans all together due to Talamscan threat.
